Can I just talk for a moment about my extreme love for this series? Okay thanks. I have absolutely adored this series from the very first book. Twenty some books later I love it just as much.

In this novel, Anita and her band of sweeties are called out to investigate a series of murders by zombies and rotting vampires who are leaving a trail of death and decompostion in their wake. When Micah’s father is the latest victim, the stakes have risen and the investigation has gotten personal.

There have been a lot of complaints over the years that the writing in this series has gone downhill and became more sex oriented rather than story oriented. That is neither here nor there, in my opinion. Does this series contain alot of graphic sex? Hell yes. Does it help to propel the story forward? Also hell yes. Personally, my love for this series has grown rather than diminished. That is especially true in the case of this novel. This is the longest Anita Blake book that has come out in quite awhile and the intense action and storytelling is very reminiscent of her earlier books in the series.

I would highly recommend this book to any fan of the series!
