“This above all-to thine own self be true.
And it must follow, as the night the day.
Thou canst not then be false to any man.”

Elizabeth Fitch has always followed her ice queen mothers orders, until the day she doesn’t, with horrific consequences. Attempting to live for herself and make her own choices, Elizabeth ends up being witness to a double homicide. When she realizes that even the police cannot protect her she flees and creates a new life for herself. Twelve years later she still feels the pain and the fear of that night. But the friendliness of small town life and the love she feels growing for the Chief of police begins to make her realize that she will never be able to get over her past until she confronts it.

Nora Roberts is an amazing writer! This book kept me enthralled from the first page to the very last! I loved seeing the growth of the characters as they progressed through the story. And the love story between the two main characters was just so sweet and fantastic. I loved reading this book and hated when it was over!

I am really looking forward to reading more of Nora Robert’s works!
